New Missionaries - Day One - April 2016

April 26, 2016

Admittedly, the missionaries are really tired when they finally get to Rome.  They are very, very excited, but sometimes they are so tired it's hard to maintain the excitement.  We've found it is much easier to make the adjustment to a new time zone if they don't immediately take a nap so we do our best to keep them moving so they don't have time to think about sleep.  The Assistants assist by taking the missionaries for a ride on the Metro and then showing them some of the sights of Rome.  Each missionary is given some pass-along cards and encouraged to find someone to share them with either on the Metro or as they visit the sights.  Miraculously, with their limited Italian, most of them are able to give their cards out.  We're very proud of them.

The one thing we have never figured out is why, when we tell the missionaries they can finally go to bed, it's like someone gave them a shot of adrenaline.  They are wide awake and the decibel level shoots sky high.  At that point, it's hard to get them to bed.
