Senior Couples
July 21, 2013
We had a potluck dinner and FHE with a group of Senior Couples who are currently serving in Rome. It was a great opportunity to socialize with others our own age and be spiritually uplifted.
We watched a video by Elder Walker about temples. Obviously we are all really interested in temples as we watch the Rome Temple being built. Each of us understands the significance of that in our lives and in the lives of the Italian people. We are very aware of the many stumbling blocks satan is throwing in our path, but we also know they are just stumbling blocks that we can overcome and still stay on the right path.
We read an article by President Eyring in the Ensign that talks about how the Lord is aware of our needs and the needs of our families as we serve him. Some of the couples serving with us have children who have fallen away from the church and pray everyday that they will see the light and return. Pres. Eyring's article brought much comfort to them. I have often said that my greatest joy in life is that my children walk uprightly before the Lord. I am indeed blessed.
