Church in Ostia

We attended church in Ostia on Sunday. The missionaries always seem so thrilled when we attend their ward. It makes us feel good. We attended their correlation meeting with the ward mission leader while we were there.

Lost in Ostia

We went to church in Ostia. It's about an hour drive from Rome. Until September of this year, the branch met at a hotel for church. Just recently they moved into their own church, which is a renovated space in a big building. It's nicely done and the members are thrilled with it. It's small but fits their needs. Normally I am able to get a picture of the missionaries after church, but they were too busy to pose for pictures because they had investigators at church and the investigators were more important than me. I have no complaints about that. It's why they are here. We met one of the investigators who has a baptismal date on November 2.
After church we got lost trying to get home. Once we finally get on the right road, we can usually find our way, but sometimes Tom, Tom doesn't tell us to turn soon enough and we make a wrong turn. With all the windy, one-way streets it's easy to get confused. We had no idea how close the church is to the sea, but it's only a couple of blocks away. We have been to Ostia a couple of times before but really didn't see much. This time we were lost in a cute part of town. No wonder the missionaries fall in love with Ostia. All of a sudden Ostia is on the brink of great success. Way to go, missionaries!
We drove by one of the cutest castles I've seen yet while in Italy. I'm hoping we get a chance to go back and see inside it some day. The piazza surrounding the castle was very quaint.
