Bari Zone Conference - July 2013

July 16, 2013

This is our final Zone Conference--at least for this round.  We do transfers next week and then we start all over again.

When we go to Zone Conference at least one of the assistants goes with us.  (We currently have three until next week when one goes home.)  Sometimes all three assistants go with us.  When we drive to areas that are on the mainland, all three go with us.  Every time we go to a conference, one of the assistants tells us about the missionaries in that zone.  We have one assistant who always says the missionaries are "awesome" in that zone.  Needless to say, as we got in the car an started the long (5 hr.) drive to Bari, he told us again that the missionaries in Bari are "awesome".  He's always right.  The missionaries are "awesome".

It's ferragosto (vacation) season in Italy and most people just go on vacation.  That means it can be difficult to find investigators and the missionaries have to really be in tune to know where the Lord wants them to be.  It's challenging but also inspiring.  The Lord doesn't take a vacation.  When we were much younger, we were on vacation and I wanted to stay one more day, but that day was Sunday.  My husband wisely said "The Lord doesn't take a vacation and we shouldn't either."  He taught me a valuable lesson that day and I've always remembered it.  We can't afford to have the Lord take a vacation from us.  We need him too much.  Consequently, we've always tried to live our lives so He will always be our companion.
