Fratello Izzo

April 10, 2014

We drove with the new senior couple from Rome to Reggio di Calabria, which is right on the tip of Italy before crossing over to Sicily.  He had never been to Italy before and they have limited Italian so we didn't want to send them off without any help.  They had some friends from the Caserta area so we arranged to stop and have lunch with them on the way.  The friends are a part member family.  He is a member and she is not.  He has been in the bishopric and is a valiant member.  He has turned his basement into a chapel.  He even has a baptismal font in it.  At least three members have been baptized in the font.  Their home is in a rural part of Italy and they have a huge garden in the back.  It was such a calm, peaceful setting.

On the way back to the freeway, we drove past the Ampitheatre in Capua and took a picture.
