Rome West Specialized Training

Rome West Zone - September 2015

The Zone Leaders concentrated their addestramento on finding new investigators.  It is important to recognize the gifts and talents each missionary has been given and how they can be used to find people to teach.

Moroni 10:8-17

And again, I exhort you, my brethren, that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many;
and they come from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are administered;
but it is the same God who worketh all in all; and they are given by the manifestations
 of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them.

For behold, to one is given by the Spirit of God, that he may teach the word of wisdom;

And to another, that he may teach the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

And to another, exceedingly great faith; and to another, the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

And again, to another, that he may work mighty miracles;

And again, to another, that he may prophesy concerning all things.

And again, to another, the beholding of angels and ministering spirits;

And again, to another, all kinds of tongues;

 And again, to another, the interpretation of languages and of divers kinds of tongues.

And all these gifts come by the Spirit of Christ; and they come unto every man severally,
according as he will.

Some missionaries are good at approaching people on the street.  Others are good at doing gesso.  It doesn't matter what they are good at as long as they are doing their best.

Other people can tell if we are being sincere when we share a message of the gospel.  They can tell if we are being obedient.

Each missionary has been placed in this zone because of the talents they currently possess and to develop new talents.  Just because we possess one gift doesn't mean we can't develop more.

There are people in this zone who are prepared to respond to their talents.

The Sister Training Leaders talked about the importance of member present lessons where a member attends the lesson and helps by bearing testimony of the truthfulness of the things that are taught.

In order to encourage members to participate, missionaries need to be friendly with the members of their wards and branches.  Doing service projects for and with members can open the door to a member's heart.

When visiting with members in their homes, it is important to prepare a message in advance and not just come up with a spiritual thought on the spot.  They should pray about what message will bless the members they are visiting.

When missionaries share miracles that have occurred with other members who participated in the teaching process, it helps the members understand miracles can happen to them also.

“As you dedicate your work and will to Him and put your worries and fears in His hands,
He will make you a great and fearless witness of Him, of His gospel, and of His Church.
He will make you great missionaries.”
President Deiter F. Uchtcorf
