Church in Catanzaro

January 3, 2016

Catanzaro, Italy

January 2, 2015

Sometimes it makes me laugh when I realize how many things we have seen in 10 minutes or less.  We drove by the Santa Maria della Rocella on the way to a meeting with the elders serving in Catanzaro and an investigator.

CATANZARO

Catanzaro has byzantine origins and is known for its three V's: Vento (wind), Velvets, and Vitaliano, the patron saint.

It is located on a hill offering its visitors the view on the Gulf of Squillace. In the 1500s the silk weavers of Catanzaro were famous in the whole of Europe.

Close to Catanzaro Marina are the ruins of the ancient church of Santa Maria della Roccella.

We saw more interesting olive trees.

Catanzaro Branch Conference

April 13, 2014

We attended church in Catanzaro.  Turns out it was their Branch Conference so it was good for us to be there.  We were able to give a much needed boost to a small branch.
