New Missionaries at the Rome Temple Site - February 2016

February 2, 2016

Seventeen new missionaries.  Mamma Mia!  They are wonderful.  Nine from the United States, seven from Italy, and one from Costa Rica.  Already we love them.  It's hard not to love someone you pray for.

(Funny story.  The greenies (new missionaries) from the Provo MTC arrived about 45 minutes earlier than the greenies from the Spain MTC.  As the Provo missionaries stood up to walk back to the terminal to greet the Spain missionaries, one of the sisters exclaimed, "Yeah!  Now we're not greenies any more!"  She's going to be a lot of fun.)

Rome Temple Update

January 12, 2015

President snapped this picture of the Rome Temple Site this morning.  We have been asked to dedicate January 25th as a day of fasting and prayer that the Italy Rome Temple might be completed and that the members of the church in Italy might be able to receive the blessings that come from attending the temple.

New Missionaries at the Rome Temple Site

December 9-10, 2014

It's an exciting thing to finally arrive in Rome, Italy.  Italy will be home for the next 18-24 months.  Because some of the missionaries may never make it back to Rome until they have completed their missions, we always make it a point to let them see the Rome Temple Site.

President Howard W. Hunter said:  "I invite the Latter-day Saints to look to the temple of the Lord as a great symbol of your membership.  It is the deepest desire of my heart to have every member of the Church worthy to enter the temple.  It would please the Lord if every adult member would be worthy of--and carry--a current temple recommend.  The things that we must do and not do to be worthy of a temple recommend are the very things that will ensure we will be happy as individuals and as families."    --Conference Report, October 1994
