At the beginning of each Zone Conference, one of the missionaries is assigned to read a section of the Missionary Handbook and tell why it is important.

"Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you,
which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"
 (1 Corinthians 6:19)

"Watch, therefore, that ye may be ready."
(D&C 50:46)

Your health and safety are of great importance.  Maintain your health so that you can serve with all your heart, might, mind, and strength.  Frequently study the Missionary Heath Guide.  Exercise daily according to guidelines in it.  Always stay with your companion during exercise.

The Assistants taught about the importance of baptism and the commitments necessary from investigators prior to baptism.

And again, by way of commandment to the church concerning the manner of baptism—All those who humble themselves before God, and desire to be baptized, and come forth with broken hearts and contrite spirits, and witness before the church that they have truly repented of all their sins, and are willing to take upon them the name of Jesus Christ, having a determination to serve him to the end, and truly manifest by their works that they have received of the Spirit of Christ unto the remission of their sins, shall be received by baptism into his church.
(D&C 20:37)

The Sister Training Leader lead a discussion on the importance of including members when teaching.

"Whenever possible invite members, preferably recent converts, to help you teach.  The ideal situation is to include Church members who formerly belonged to the same church as the investigators.  Show the members a copy of the lesson, and discuss what you want them to teach.  Discuss how to work together.  For example, have the members, as appropriate, share how they were able to learn, accept, and live a particular principle of the lesson.  Have them explain how they made the decision to join the Church.  When members join in teaching, they will have the opportunity to feel the joy of missionary work.  It also provides friendship for the investigator."  (Preach My Gospel - pg. 179)

"Members are already living what missionaries are teaching."

The Zone Leaders talked about listening to the spirit, and then acting on those promptings.  Faith is essential in missionary work.

"You never know how much good you do."  (President Gordon B. Hinckley)
