The drive to Bari and Taranto is long and tedious so a little diversion is always a good thing. That's why we started the tradition of stopping at a water buffalo dairy to get some fresh mozarella di bufala cheese. For the few missionaries who get to experience the event, it becomes one of their favorite memories. The clerks at the dairy recognize us because we do the same thing every six weeks. They graciously pose for pictures and laugh with us.
Isn't it some sort of sin to eat mozzarella di bufala with Ritz crackers? Pugliese bread or a good chewy rosetta would go well with that and not be a sin.
