STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE
for the
ITALY ROME
MISSION
May 2015
On page 146 of Preach My Gospel it says: “Over time, your mission president may
establish standards of excellence or mission goals intended to raise
your vision and increase your faith.”
The following Standards of Excellence have now been revised
for our mission so we will be stretched enough to better fulfill our purpose:
We
are a BAPTIZING MISSION.
We
have INVESTIGATORS WITH A BAPTISM DATE.
We
are a PREACH MY GOSPEL MISSION.
We
TEACH WITH MEMBERS whenever possible.
We
are an OBEDIENT MISSION.
Investigators: 6 per week per companionship (3 new and 3
continuing). This Standard of
Excellence reflects our desire to find families to teach, as well as
individuals. (We are currently averaging
1.5 new investigators per companionship per week.)
Lessons taught with members present: 7 per companionship. The current average is approximately 2 per
companionship.
Total
lessons taught: 21 per week per companionship. This is three per day and will allow us to
develop the skill necessary to achieve the other goals.
Total Investigators with a baptism
date: 4 per companionship. (The average is currently 1 per
companionship.) Since this number
increased, our baptisms have increased.
We will continue to increase baptisms as we regularly invite
investigators to baptism.
Investigators at Sacrament Meeting: 4 per week per companionship. (The current average is about 1.5 per
companionship.) As we reach this goal
the others will fall into place.
Baptisms and Confirmations: Our Standard of Excellence for the mission is
40 baptisms per month or 480 per year. (Our highest
month thus far has been 28.)
For other key indicators, prayerfully set your
own weekly goals.
Remember the power of goals. Each day we should plan for, pray about and
work diligently toward accomplishing our goals.
Our goals and plans, combined with our faith and works, transform our
love for God and others into action.
It is important to remember that others
also have the gift of agency.
You will feel God’s love and a sense of peace if you have done your best
(“bee the
best you can bee”), even if others choose not to accept your invitation to come unto Christ and be baptized in His
name.
