Sardegna Zone - October 2015

We always plan a theme for the zone conferences in each transfer period.  We have eight different zones and and each one of the presentations is just a little different.  The one in Sardegna was just a little different than the others we have done.  In each zone the importance of role plays and planning has been stressed.  In this zone conference the Assistants talked about the power of a good role play. 

President Waddoups emphasized that in order to be a baptizing mission, we have to be a role playing mission.  He read a scripture in 1 Timothy that talks about gifts from God that help us to become baptizing missionaries.  He also referred to the scriptures in the Doctrine and Covenants that talks about the importance of serving God faithfully by asking for His help, putting on His armour, and using His shield of faith.

D&C 4:1-4, 7

1  Now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.
2  Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
3  Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;
4  For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul;

7  Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen.

D&C 27:15-17

15  Wherefore, lift up your hearts and rejoice, and gird up your loins, and take upon you my whole armor, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, having done all, that ye may be able to stand.
16  Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, which I have sent mine angels to commit unto you;

17  Taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked;

The Assistants asked one of the sisters to come to the front of the chapel and asked her to read a copy of her mission call.  It brought tears to her eyes as she read it again as a real missionary.  All the missionaries felt emotional as they thought about themselves and their individual calls.  The Assistants followed this up by saying:

How does it make you feel?

The Prophet has called each of us to be a missionary. 

We all agreed to follow with exactness.

All calls are the same except for name, place, and language.

We need to plan in order to be prepared to find, teach, and baptize.

We need to plan and be prepared to listen to the Spirit of the Holy Ghost.

 We need to ask inspired questions. 

President Waddoups concluded the zone conference by teaching about the Doctrine of Christ.  He taught from Alma 5 where Alma asks over 50 inspired questions.  Missionaries need to ask themselves the same questions.
