Letter to President
Well this week was really good. On wednesday we had this lesson with this couple. Lemme first say how we found them so we came home one day to grab our jackets cuz we were going to a baptism that day and when we got home we realized that we had locked the keys inside so we were scrambling everywhere to get in and in the end we ended up taking a later bus without our jackets to church. While we were on the bus just sitting there this girl comes up to us and asks are you missionaries, yes we say, oh do you have a phamplet or something, yes we still say dumbfounded. we gave her a phamplet and then she asks, oh do you guys meet with peole to talk about your religion, yes we say even more dumbfounded, oh can we do one she asks, yes we say with our jaws dropped so we exchanged numbers. last wednesday was our first lesson and she brought her boyfriend. so they come in and we sit down in church and she pulls out a notebook. at first i thought that maybe she was hoping for an english course type thing, and then as we start talking she starts taking notes! There story is that they have studied all kinds of religions and they are literally looking for the truth and they are the most open minded people ive ever met. Even the boy friend who said he was agnostic opened right up and he would even tell her to write something down when she wasnt. They also came to church yesterday which was cool. But during our lesson i had a very interesting thought. I thought this couple is sooo well prepared by the Lord and to get them here i did nothing. I then had an overwhelming feeling of gratitude toward God for even letting me be there to be able to participate. it was a very good lesson. That feeling grew even more last night when i took numbers and i heard success stories from all the missionaries in my district and it was all more or less along the same lines. all of their success came from something they didnt do even though they are all working hard. Its amazing and it was really cool to see and hear stories of how when we do what we can, the Lord does His work and allows us to participate as instruments. That was really cool.
