Alma 17:3
But this is not all; they had given themselves to much prayer, and fasting; therefore they
had the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and when they taught, they
taught with power and authority of God.
Sometimes young missionaries don't realize the importance of personal revelation and how it can guide them in their every day lives and how important it is right now as they are seeking to find those who have been prepared to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are very quick to acknowledge the miracles that occur when they follow revelation, but have a hard time recognizing the revelation as it guiding their footsteps. That is one of the great things about serving a mission. It helps them develop spiritually and learn to recognize revelation as it is given to them.
This has been a great round of zone conferences. Some of the more seasoned missionaries are really beginning to see the growth that has taken place in their lives and the newer missionaries are just beginning to see what potential they have.
This is a great time to be a missionary!

"President, we promise it won't look like this in the morning!" Italian haircuts are an interesting experience. Nobody walks out with the haircut they expected--usually it's much shorter and sticking straight up in the air. |

As we left the Catania Zone Conference and drove to the airport, the sun was just setting on Mt. Etna. |
The haircuts crack me up. I have to say, Uncle Michael looks so great and so happy in all these pics. I have no doubt at all that he was SO meant to go back to Italy and do exactly what he's doing. I especially love the pic of him with his arms around the elders. Love to you both!
ReplyDeleteYou weren't kidding when you were telling me about Italian haircuts! I still think yours looks very nice though. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll make sure NOT to get a haircut while we are there next month. YIPEE, less than a month before I leave to come!
ReplyDeleteMany of you look forward to each blog posting looking for a son, daughter, friend, or relation and rejoice in sharing a missionary moment. I too enjoy the sights and fondly reminisce. However, for me there is joy is in seeing a name tag like that of Anziano Da Ponte and others and know that soon zone conferences will all be in Italian. "Un bel di' vedrem."
