Napoli Underworld w/ Assistants

December 1, 2014

Under the city of Napoli (Naples) is an ancient subterranean area where beginning about 300 BC soft volcanic tuft was removed and religious leaders were buried in the catacombs.  Later the Greeks continued to excavate and turned the entire area into an underground cistern which provided fresh water for the people above.  About the 13th century, the population had increased significantly and the water supply was insufficient so the ancient aqueduct was abandoned.  During World War II the abandoned acqueduct was used as a bomb shelter and provided protection for approximately 4000 people.

Because it was P-Day (Elder Perry says P-Day stands for Perry Day), the Assistants invited me to go with them to the Underworld while President did interviews.
