Definition of REVELATION
D&C 50:21-24
21 Therefore, why is it that ye cannot understand and know,
that he that receiveth the word by the Spirit of truth receiveth it as it is
preached by the Spirit of truth?
22 Wherefore, he that preacheth and he that receiveth, understand one another,
and both are edified and rejoice together.
23 And that which doth not edify is not of God, and is darkness.
24 That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light,
and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth
brighter and brighter until the perfect day.

What is revelation?
D&C 8:2-3
2 Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart,
by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart.
3 Now, behold, this is the spirit of revelation; behold, this is the
spirit by which Moses brought the children of Israel through the
Red Sea on dry ground.
by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart.
3 Now, behold, this is the spirit of revelation; behold, this is the
spirit by which Moses brought the children of Israel through the
Red Sea on dry ground.
Who can receive revelation?
Alma 32:23
23 And now, he imparteth his word by angels unto men, yea, not only men
but women also. Now this is not all; little children do have words given
unto them many times, which confound the wise and the learned.
but women also. Now this is not all; little children do have words given
unto them many times, which confound the wise and the learned.
What do we have to do to qualify for revelation?
D&C 20: 77, 79
77 O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ,
to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it,
that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee,
O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him and keep his commandments which he has given them;
that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.
79 O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ,
to bless and sanctify this wine to the souls of all those who drink of it,
that they may do it in remembrance of the blood of thy Son, which was shed for them;
that they may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always
remember him, that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

What is the process to receive revelation?
D&C 54:10-12
10 And now come, saith the Lord, by the Spirit, unto the elders of his church,
and let us reason together, that ye may understand;
11 Let us reason even as a man reasoneth one with another face to face.
12 Now, when a man reasoneth he is understood of man,
because he reasoneth as a man; even so will I, the Lord,
reason with you that you may understand.
and let us reason together, that ye may understand;
11 Let us reason even as a man reasoneth one with another face to face.
12 Now, when a man reasoneth he is understood of man,
because he reasoneth as a man; even so will I, the Lord,
reason with you that you may understand.
How can we avoid being deceived?
D&C 88:118-119
118 And as all have not faith, seek ye diligently and teach one another
words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom;
seek learning, even by study and also by faith.
119 Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house,
even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning,
a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God;
Ether 12:6
6 And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things;
I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the
trial of your faith.

trial of your faith.

In order to teach effectively, we should each develop Christlike attributes. The Sister Training Leader reinforced a section of Preach My Gospel that talks about humility.
Humility is willingness to submit to the will of the Lord and to give the Lord the honor for what is accomplished. It includes gratitude for His blessings and acknowledgment of your constant need for His divine help. Humility is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of spiritual strength. When you humble trust Him and acknowledge His power and mercy, you can have the assurance that His commandments are for your good. You are confident that you can do whatever the Lord requires of you if you rely on Him. You are also willing to trust His chosen servants and follow their counsel. Humility will help you as you strive to be obedient, to work hard, and serve selflessly.

The Zone Leaders taught about the importance of being charitable when teaching about the gospel of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity,
I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries,
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries,
and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains,
and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my

body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth

not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not
easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail;
whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge,
it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part
shall be done away.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in
part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child,
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in
part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child,
I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three;
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three;
but the greatest of these is charity.
