Capi (leaders) Conference is held every other transfer. It's a meeting where all the zone leaders and sister training leaders receive training to be better leaders. For the first time ever in this mission, it was held electronically using the church PVC Vidyo System. Missionary leaders gathered in five different locations in the mission--Rome, Messina, Cagliari, Bari, and Palermo. The main broadcast station was in Rome and leaders from the Rome West, Rome East and Napoli Zones met at the mission office. The other locations joined in with computers at the church where they were located. Because of band width, we were limited to just five locations.
Missionaries at satellite locations were able to see and hear and be heard. The process was very interactive. Modern technology is amazing.
The maximum amount of time any missionary was required to travel to get to the meeting was approximately three hours. All travel could be completed in one day. That is a huge improvement over the two to three days required to bring everyone to Rome and then return home. There are still a few little technical bugs that need to be worked out, but overall it was highly successful.
