The first day in Rome is exhausting for a new missionary. They have been awake for hours traveling on a plane. They are exhausted and in a different time zone. They are also very hungry. The first thing we try to do once they leave the airport is take a picture at the temple site on the way to the villa and then feed them. After some training by the office missionaries, the assistants usually take them for a ride on the metro to see the Colosseum. It's an opportunity for them to interact with the Italian people and try their hand at handing out pass-a-long cards on the way. It's also a great way to become immersed in the culture of Italy. And then they are hungry again!

I am the mom of Anziano Spencer, and it is such a joy to see these pictures and read this update! I know maintaining a blog takes a lot of work, and we are so appreciative! What a fantastic opportunity for us to share even more in his journey. Grazie tantissimo!!
