Castellammare to Rome

September 21, 2013

As part of the zone conference in Pozzouli, Michael did a scambi (exchange) with one of the missionaries while I attended the English class taught by the sister missionaries.  After the conference was over, we went to Castellammare on the west coast of the Napoli zone and Michael did a scambi  with two of the elders there.  Since there are no sister missionaries serving in Castellammare, I wandered around the park and little shops near the shore.

The next morning we programmed Tom, Tom to avoid the toll roads and headed back to Rome.  I love avoiding the freeways (autostrada) because then we get a real feel for Italy.

There must have been a Ferrari convention somewhere.

At least his room didn't have lizards.

Trash along the side of the road.

This sign basically says not to leave trash here.

Water buffalo

Water buffalo

Water buffalo and sheep.  Naples has several herds of water buffalo.  The milk from the water buffalo is used to make the famous mozzarella di buffalo cheese that comes from the Napoli region.

Men pulling in their fishing net.  (It was empty.  I know a master fisherman who could fill their nets if they were only fishers of men.)

Goats next to the water buffalo

Notice the piles of trash in front of the goats.

We bought fresh Mozzarella di Buffalo at the plant where they make the cheese.

Choose ye this day whom ye will serve.
