Rome West Zone Conference

It's time for another round of Zone Conferences.  The Rome West zone was part of the Stake split the day before.  The missionaries were still on a spiritual high.  It was great.

This time the focus is on obedience.  When we are obedient we are blessed.  We prepared a handout with the following scripture on it.

D&C 100:2-8, 15

Therefore, follow me, and listen to the counsel which I shall give unto you.

Behold, and lo, I have much people in this place, in the regions round about (Italy), and an effectual door shall be opened in the regions round about in this eastern land.

Therefore, I the Lord have suffered you to come unto this place; for thus it was expedient in me for the salvation of souls.

Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts that I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be confounded before men;

For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say.

But a commandment I give unto you, that ye shall declare whatsoever thing ye declare in my name, in solemnity of heart, in the spirit of meekness, in all things. 

And I give unto you this promise, that inasmuch as ye do this the Holy Ghost shall be shed forth in bearing record unto all things whatsoever ye shall say. 

Therefore, let your hearts be comforted; for all things shall work together for good to them that walk uprightly, and to the sanctification of the church.

The church has recently come out with a new handbook on dealing with stress.  We will be presenting that to every missionary, old and new, in the mission.  It's a great tool.  Statistically, this age group is the most prone to depression and feelings of anxiety.  The aim is to help them better cope with these feelings. 

Only 40% of our missionaries were able to attend the special meeting with Elder Ballard.  The other 60% were outside the stake boundaries and weren't able to be there.  At the zone conference we did a recap of all the things that Elder Ballard said and are making a list so we can share everything with those missionaries who weren't there.  The missionaries took copious notes so they had lots of good things to include on the list.
