Sometimes I really miss not being able to spend much time at the villa. It really is a grand old building. However, it is badly in need of some repairs and cleaning. This is the week it's all been happening. This is one week I'm glad I haven't been at the villa.
I asked to have a small repair made in the parquet floor in the dining room. Next thing I know, they have moved all the furniture out and are replacing about 1/4 of the boards and completely refinishing the room. The dust was awful and the smell of the repairs was worse. The marble on the stairs hadn't been polished in forever so they polished that. That was even worse. Dust covers everything. Everytime we leave and then return, we find a bigger mess than we left. We were hoping it would all be finished by Monday night, but now they are going to polish the stairs going to the basement. They really need it. Luckily we are leaving again for five days and hope when we return everything will finally be finished. We really need to get this wrapped up because we have new missionaries coming on October 16.
