First Baptism

June 29, 2013

The first baptism during our time in Rome occurred the first night we were there.  The spirit is strong.

Two of the assistants had a few minutes between when they helped us get settled and the start of the baptism.  In that 30 minute time frame, they found a young Nigerian man who was interested in their message.  They told him about the baptism and invited him to attend.  I talked to him afterwards and he said it was like coming home and that he had finally found his family.  The next morning as we walked to church, we met him on his way there, too.  The meeting started at 9:30 am and he had left home at 7:00 am so he could be there.  You can tell from looking at his eyes that he is ready to accept The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints into his life.  It is such a beautiful thing to witness.
