Sardegna is an island. You either have to fly or take a ferry. We thought it would be a good idea if we went to Sicily and then flew straight to Sardegna. Little did we know that the old saying "All roads lead to Rome" also applies to flight. We had to fly from Sicily to Rome and then back to Sardegna. We are still on a huge learning curve. At this point, we have less than three years to figure it out.
The missionaries in Sardegna are very young and new to the mission field. None of the missionaries have been serving over a year and most of them have only been here for less than twelve weeks. It's a huge challenge in our mission right now. We have trainers who should still be junior companions. With the huge influx of missionaries right now, it just doesn't work that way. A year from now our mission will be powerful--if we can train the missionaries properly. It's a hurdle that we are continually praying for the best way to provide that training. It's a good thing the Lord is in charge and sees the future. We teach our missionaries to have fede (faith) and we find ourselves constantly moving forward with faith.

ReplyDeleteMy goodness, they even look young. The Lord is amazing and he is hastening the work.
